Recently acquired a denon avc-a1sr and the front panel was broken in transport..
hinges were snapped:(
i notice they are held on by phillips screws
Is it a big job to replace these hinges??
How do i go about sourcing these and replacing them myself?
any help greatly appreciated:smashin:

Some Denon amp fascias have been on eBay recently. Maybe not compatible but it's an odd item to have and the seller might have access to others and be testing the water (?)

HTH,
Mike.

Thanks will look into it..
Anybody actually replaced the hinges b4?

Should be easy. I think it's accessed from underneath if I remember correctly. UPS managed to snap the front panel off my old KA1SE and crack the DSP board (all without visible damage to the box!) when I sold it. Was sent back to Denon UK's official repairer for them to sort out.

I'm not sure about the access from underneath.
I've tried sourcing the hinges..
Have located the left one but apparantly the right hinge is a discontinued part..
I'm stumped at this stage tbh....

Been six years since I had it so my memory might be failing a bit! Just remember part opening the front panel door and being able to see a gap underneath. Different design to my current Denon which looks like you'd have to dismantle to get at the mechanism.

Have you tried Denon UK to see if they can help or point you in the right direction?

I contacted there main supplier and they told me the right hinge is a discontinued part....
But the left hinge is available..
I can't understand this tbh....
I mite ring denon and ask for there advise..

Get in touch with one of the specialist Denon repairers (see Youtube) and ask them. Might have one in a box of bits...

Re: Post #2 - How long did you spend searching eBay ?
Re: Post #10 - How many repair techs have you contacted ?

I searched eBay UK
Europe and the USA for the parts and nothing..
I contacted Denon UK service dept and they said they'd contact which they didn't
I contacted Charles Hyde which are denons main suppliers of parts and the parts were listed on there site..
Oredered parts and I thought I was sorted...then got email from them saying parts were unobtainable..
Contacted local hifi repairers only tobe told the same thing...

Didn't do what I suggested then...

...apart from the eBay search which I couldn't find either. Must have been pulled.

Thst link sent me to a blank eBay page.
I searched as you suggested and came up with nothing..
Maybe I'm just useless at searching lol
