I have a 1970's Aiwa AF 5050 system that I have just refurbished. The original 50w 2 pin DIN speakers are beyond repair having perished. Is there a good replacement anyone can advise as I am struggling to find 2 pin DIN speakers or is there an adapter option? These speakers do not need an AC adapter.

you could use any speaker with the same impedance and similar power handling
if the 2 pin din plug is at the aiwa music centre end and the wire is fixed directly to the speakers just cut the speaker wire at the back of the speaker and connect to the new speakers of choice

most speakers will have banana binding posts or the little sprung push in connectors it's just a matter of stripping the end of the wire to make the connection

2 pin dins are pretty much a thing of the past you'd be lucky to find a pair of speakers with them still intact
