I have a Sony DAVS-800 and am interested in replacing the speaker cable (I know I'll have to solder it on to the existing bespoke connectors unfortunately).

However I don't have a lot of dosh to spend. If I upgrade to something entry-level like the QED micro cable or Atlas 1.25 cable (about £1.50 a metre) will it actually make much difference to the sound?

Has anyone had experience of replacing speaker cable on a system like mine, and can they report whether it's worth spending the money?

    Any thoughts appreciated....

Well I thought I'd update anyone who'd read my previous message - I bought some cable from a really good hi-fi shop near me and I'm going to use it to replace all my speaker cable. If it makes much difference to the sound, I'll let you knokw...

to fit the speaker wire in u usually haev to push the speaker plug flush to a surface so that the OEM (rubbish) bellwire falls out and then u can put some slightly better stuff in.
