I have a Panasonic Plasma TH-42PZ85B TV but the power cable is missing. Can I use any standard IEC cable for this model of TV, so long as I install the correct fuse? I am in the UK with a 240v supply.

I read the manual and, as usual, it states not to use any other cable than that supplied with the TV and also states that this model requires a 5 amp fuse. Can anybody "in the know" please advise me on this as I am not an expert on electrics and want to make sure there is no additional fire risk in using a standard cable.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes, a standard mains lead with a 5A fuse should be okay.

JayCee, thank you very much. My expertise is not in this field and I believe it's always best to double check on safety critical issues. Much obliged to you for your kind help.
