Does anyone know where I could get a replacement hard disc drive for a JVC DR-MH30? assuming its possible of course. Haven't popped the lid yet so I'm not sure if a specialist hdd is required or a standard hdd could work. any ideas?

If it has malfunctioned the easiest way is to open the machine. The disks are usually standard 2.5" computer disks like those in laptops.
If you are thinking of putting in a larger disk, look around this forum for ideas bu generally speaking it's not possible (or certainly not easy).

Ye -its just a replacement needed - no upgrade. Long story - I was at a boot sale and for a laugh I bought a faulty dr-mh30 (minus the internal hdd for next to no money). Had the 'loading' fault which I can fix with a couple of new resistors - but I still need to replace the hdd. As theres not one in there I didn't know what type it could take. Had a quick search just now but cant find 2.5" 160gb hdd's - maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Anyhow I guess I can chuck it on ebay if I cant fix and make more than my money back, but would love to get it running.
