Hi,
Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement for my REL Q100?
I've had it many years, and i performs ok, but i'm getting tired of its large ugliness, and want something a bit more room friendly, and ideally one that is a sonic upgrade too, something that goes lower and has a bit more slam (not interested in boomy bass though)
The problem i have with the REL i have is that it is big, and ugly, not helped by the fact that my cat has clawed the grill so it looks tatty too, its also black, I'd much prefer a wood style finish.
I don't mind a largish subwoofer (no larger than the one i have though), but ideally i'd like it to have the driver facing downwards, so i don't have to worry about my cat damaging it, smaller would be better, but not if it compromises it too much.
My room is about 12x12 ft, with a high ceiling, I will be using it with my Marantz 1602, and 4 x Q Acoustics 2010i and Q Acoustics Centre.
Budget is up to £500
Thanks for reading.
