I am looking to replace a Philips DVD Recorder that is used to make masters of short films that are then duplicated onto DVDR.

I was hoping to be able to move a -rw recorder, but there are some things that we like about the Philips / +rw system which I can't find on the -rw recorders:

you can fairly easily top and tail a recording to remove unwanted material

it will accept PAL or NTSC without having to change a menu setting

it outputs NTSC as NTSC, not PAL60

Can anybody suggest a suitable replacement (HDD is not an option) ?

What is the Philips model that you are seeking to replace?

Why is an HDD model "not an option"?
