Question Replacement for KEF HT2B Subwoofer

Hi guys, I have the KEF 3005SE speaker package running off an Onkyo TX SR-608 amp. It's a bit old but I'm still really happy with it. Recently the HT2B sub packed up - it won't turn on (fuses checked and an AV electronics friend was left scratching his head over it). I've had a look online and people with similar problems are saying that a repair seems to be well in excess of £150, not including transporation, so it looks as though I need to consider replacing it.
I don't know about the pairing of subs with the other speakers and the amp and so I'm reaching out to you guys to point me in the right direction as to what will work with my set up and give me similar performance to the HT2B. The room is about 6m x 3m and fairly open and I have a budget of around £250.
Many thanks.
