Five years ago (or so) I bought a Sony DAVS880 home theatre setup. The best I could afford at the time. I met what I later found was the common complaint with this system - lack of proper heat dissipation - but otherwise it does well enough. You can't play through an extended DVD with it though. After two hours it quits and you have to leave it a while to cool. Now I'd like to replace the main unit but keep the 5.1 speakers. The thing is, they have odd plugs on end - I'm sure you experts are familiar with them. Is there a suitable replacement DVD/Tuner/amp that I can use that doesn't require me to chop off these plugs? I don't mind buying Sony again.
