Hi all,

So I bought the cheap Yamaha RX-V1073 from Peter Tyson a few years back and I'm now looking to replace it with something capable of 4K.

I have a Monitor Audio MASS speaker system so not very high end.

It looks like the direct replacement for the V1073 would be a RXA1060 or the newer RXA1070.

I can see a few richer sounds are selling the last 1060s off cheap for £899.

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Kev

THe RXA1070 has one major advantage over the model it replaces and can apply Yamaha's proprietary DSP Programs to both Atmos and DTS:X audio. THe RXA1060 lacks this ability.

Just wait and see what Yamaha announce at IFA in Berlin to see which models will be getting a firmware update to support AirPlay 2. If this includes the 1060 then it is a good price providing you don't need the DSP programs for ATMOS.
