    I have a factory fitted changer in the boot, it is a Clarion 96 333 549 80.
I think it is time for a new one as it refuses to play for a while, every time the disc holder is replaced and skips until it has been left for a few days.
Does anyone know if I have to buy from Peugeot ? I have six direct cd buttons on the head unit, does this mean a non Pug unit with 10 discs will not work?
    Thanks

    Have the laser cleaned first.
An after market one may be possible dependant on the model of you head unit. What year is the car and model also do you have the head unit model.

Stripped it down and gave it a clean yesterday, better but not great.
It only is a problem when changing the discs and putting the cartridge back.
The head unit is the Clarion produced RM2, details from the Peugeot handbook.
Is it worthwhile sending it away for a repair?

Thanks for the link, but as usual it has settled down and is working.
It does naff me off but at £200 plus I am going to live with it, it is one of many strange traits e.g. CD to radio = loose loudness, volume up on the stalk= change radio station the first time you do it!!

I really do not want to end up with a tea leaf luring set up.

I will check out some trashed 406's

    Ged.
