My Philips 37PF5520D LCD TV came with a component to VGA cable so I can plug in my component output of my DVD recorder into the VGA to DVI adapter and then into the TV.

Thing is, I don't think the cable is especially good quality, it doesn't even have gold contacts. Would it be worth changing this for a higher quality component to VGA cable, am I likely to notice any improvement in picture quality?

I'm sure you would notice a difference in quality!

Talk to Mark Grant for some Belden 7110A component cables - top notch, and affordable!

    Thanks, sent him a PM.

Would the fact that any cable I buy would have to go into the supplied VGA to DVI adapter, then into the DVI socket, degrade the quality of the signal coming through the quality. In other words, is improving the cable useless unless I improve the supplied adapter as well?
