I have a sony(of course) mini hifi system, the MHC-3600 and yes, it is fairly old, bought in Dec 1991!!!
BUT I like the system and it has fantastic sound from the 3 way speaker system.
However, I have had real problems with the CD component recently. It sometimes refuses to 'see' a disc, will not play at all, or will not close/eject the drawer sometimes.

The model of the CD player is the CDP-H3600.

    ADVICE PLEASE....
Where would be the best place to get this fixed bearing in mind how old it is?
Any idea how much a new CD player would be for the unit, bearing in mind the connections (multiple flat wire) to the amplifier?

If, as I suspect there is no real chance of a repair/replacement of this, does anybody know of any up-to-date cd player which would happily use the connection to the rest of the unit ie the flat wire.

    Thanks for any help.
