Repair my PSW1000 or buy XLS200???

Standard Member
My 6 yr old Kef PSW1000 is making that whining/rumbling sound when no input is being fed into it, as per some of the psw2000 threads. I contacted Kef who roughly quoted me £70-100 repair to the amplifier board. After reading this forum you all got me thinking...should I put the money towards a BK XLS200 or go for the repair. I'm pretty happy with the KEF but my heart is thinking towards the BK.

A noticable upgrade or am I just wanting a new toy..!!

Cheers Mike

My first sub was a PSW-2000 and when that was upgraded to an MJ Ref 200 (XLS-200 with extra gizmos but less balls) the difference was night and day, not only in depth, but in quality too. Well worth the £300 IMHO.
