My Sony STR-DB925 has died and I am looking for a replacement. It is no fun listening to the TV speaker.
My Speaker setup is Tannoy MC centre channel, Tannoy M1`s for front and Tannoy M2`s for rear. I am thinking about purchasing 2 more speakers for the rear to get 7:1 surround sound
I thought about the STR-DB790 but I have heard it needs a compatible speaker system. Other thoughts are Yamaha AVX750, RX650 or Denon 2805.
Can anybody recommend which amp would work ok with my Tannoy speakers.
Component setup includes Sky+ digital optical, JVC super VHS recorder and a JVC 28" 4:3 TV which I hopefully will be uprading to a Plasma Screen in the next 6 months.

No idea what that means - but it's been replaced by the 795 now anyway.

    You're comparing £300, £500 and £700 amps here - what's your budget?

Not quite sure what you mean by that. I have an STR-DB790 running with the newer Tannoy MX-M series. There's nothing non-standard about the Sony that I'm aware of.
