Greetings all , hope I'm on the correct thread !

I'm moving into a small flat : first floor conversion of a Victorian house.
Space is at a premium so I would like to :
  • move things off the floor
  • hide as many cables as possible
At the moment I have the internet coming in under a bedroom window leading to a length of cable and a wireless router which does the job in such a small flat.

First question : do I need to get cabled internet to the back of a TV / PVR / PS4 or can I rely on wireless ?

In the room where the TV would go, there is currently a blocked up fireplace. The "obvious" place to put a TV would be above that fireplace .

Second question : is above a fireplace too high for a wall mounted TV if the viewers are seated only 3 metres away ?
Third question : is it okay to wall mount a TV above a disused fireplace - will I have problems with the chimney void and chasing cables ?
Finally : is there anything else I should be doing to future proof while there's so much upheaval and I've got the sparkies in ?

Thanks for your thoughts guys !
