Ive just bought some new speakers for my 51' clio for the front doors, with built in tweeters. Should i remove the built in tweeters on the dashboard. Im not bothered about them staying there, can i just disconnect them and leave them in place without having to take the whole dash off.

You can just disconnect them, you will have to check the wiring back to the headunit though as there must be a filter somewhere along the lines. The best option would be to get component speakers and replace the mid speaker and tweeter running new cable back to the headunit.

Tweeter cover just twists and lifts off, then you can disconnect it and leave it in there. Beware that everyone i know has snapped the tweeter cover so i would suggest taking the top of the dash off instead of twisting and lifting, its less than 10 screws iirc and very easy to do!
