Question Removing rear speakers from my system question

I currently have an Onkyo 3404 all in one 5.1 system and am considering removing the 2 rear speakers. Will this make it a 3.1? Do I need to change any options in the menu?

I have Sky, xbox one and PS4 running through the amp. Will I also need to change anything in the sound options on these systems?

Apologies for the noon questions, just want to make sure I have everything covered.

You would just need to go into the amp menu system and turn the surround speakers to off.

Thanks. My connected devices currently show as DD or 5.1 - shall I leave them as they are?

Yes. The avr will down mix the soundtrack accordingly.
