Removing Felt Cinema tape from wall?

Morning all,

Has anyone got any tips on how to remove the sticky cinema felt tape from a wall?

I have recently added a proper screen, and attempted to remove the felt tape with a hair dryer but it is leaving a lot of sticky residue..

Have you tried a solvent on a bit of rag? I've used Wd40 to remove various things in the past

Hi Andy, I ended up pulling it down and sanding the wall. Much easier

Fair enough, I've sometimes had issues with it forming clumps and getting uneven results, it it just clogging everything up. Sometimes I've applied some talc so as least it doesn't stick to other things and can just be brushed up once removed.
