Can anyone recommend a sure method to remove bad tastes and smells from thermos flasks and insulated coffee mugs? I'm going on a long round trip in the morning and will not have time to stop for anything to eat or drink so I wanted to take my flask and coffee mug, which have been languishing in the cupboard for a long while and have developed a bad smell which I'm pretty certain will taste the containers and drinks.

Have been informed by better half (notice the sloping shoulders :rotfl: ) something like oxyclean, if you have it, or bicarb of soda & hot water, or bleach & hot water, RINSE WELL AFTERWARDS  maybe lemon juice & rinse or google it - you never know!

    Or whisky..

Did you hear about the blonde who bought a thermos because she had heard they were excellent at keeping hot things hot, and cold things cold. So she put in coffee and an ice cream...
