I have a basic 16:9 pull down screen, set up and on the left hand side there is a 6" ripple/dent. Anyone know a trick/how I can tension this up?

You could try some gentle heat from a hair drier.

    Your risk, though ! :)

The ripple runs all the way down (sorry forgot to mention), it's like it need pulling at the bottom (outwards) or something.

I improved my DRH manual screen by slipping a thin iron rod (1/8th inch) into the bottom bar. It needs a little help to retract now, but is definately flatter.

Is it possible that the screen is hanging at an angle? If it isn't mounted perfectly horizontally then the lob-sided weight will give you a 'wavey' ripple on one side.

If I pull off the end cap (left side) I can pull the material (only aq tounch) and it's perfect. It's mounted on the ceiling direct, which I assumed (wrong!) was flat. I think I can probably hack it with a split rod or deomthing, ling binbag to improve it, just too lazy at the moment as I'm watching too many films!

Might find the slat bar is bent slightly so not exerting the same tension across the screen.

Funnily enough it was a tad, but I had already straighten it :)
