Can any of you put to rest (or substantiate!) a claim made in a lunchtime conversation, that it is possible to programme Sky+ remotely by phone. ie if you go out spontaneously and so would miss a programme you'd otherwise watch (though wouldn't you have it set up with a series link to record just in case...?) you can dial up (which number...?) press some buttons (which...?) and it'll be set to record your programme.

I suspect this is bovine droppings but hey, its source was a collague who has "a mate who works at Sky".

    Answered my own question...!

see http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/article/ds11834.html which discusses future features of Sky+ and includes:

"Remote booking via SMS will happen next year. This will allow you to add a recording to your Sky+ box when you are away from home. Sky are currently developing this feature and as far as cost goes it is something that they are not looking to make money out of but probably won’t be subsidising it either."

    Could be interesting.

    :)
