Morning all.

I need to establish a remote system for my room. I've looked at the usual suspects but I think a software driven system via an iPad would be the better option for me - unless I can be convinced otherwise.

There seems to be a few out there but without spending money on the full app, I can't get a decent handle on capabilities/drawbacks so trying them all out could be pretty wasteful.

What would you recommend and why?

I saw that in a recent build thread but couldn't remember who's it was.

I assume it has macro functions?

We used it to customise a control system for Great Ormond Street Hospitals meeting rooms . Including some custom backgrounds

It looks like I won't be as I've just learned it is subscription only after buying the app. I'd rather get it bought and installed instead of being at the mercy of a subscription.

Any other ideas?

There are alternatives but haven't really looked into them. I was lucky enough to get Roomie before it became subscription based so don't have to pay it, although they have limited some of the functionality for us freeloaders. IRule is one alternative that springs to mind but never tried or looked into it.
