Newbie to the forum, I'm looking for a universal remote for the following stuff

    TV - Sony KV32FQ75
    Amp - Sony STR-DB940
    Sky (Sky+ later on)
DVD - Pioneer 717 (may upgrade to a recorder)

Budget is round about £100 and been looking at the Sony AV2500 but it looks huge, and the Kameleon 8 (not sure about this JP1 stuff though). Like the Philips Pronto but a bit pricey.

Can many remotes also operate lights too, or are they beyond my budget?

    Which remote you interested in?

If the Sun 3000 (think that's the name) http://www.maplin.co.uk/ do them. You can order online AFAIK but I picked one up from a store. On the site it lists store locations etc.

You could do a lot worse than one of these:
    http://www.remotecentral.com/vl900/index.html
but you will have to get it from the USA. I'm off to North Carolina next week and I might get another one while I'm there. The only problem so far is that the ink wears off the most-used buttons, but since I don't read the lettering anyway (use it by feel) that doesn't really matter.
