    Hi all,

Until now I have used my receiver only when the cabinet was open due to the heat, however I've made some extra holes in the back and am hoping to be able to leave it closed.

Now I'm looking for some device that will still allow me to use the remote. The receiver is prepared with these input/outputs.

Could I just connect a small (cheap) infrared receiver? And if so, would you know a good option?

    Thanks!

The IR receiver that you were asking about a couple of months ago?

Ok admittedly I forgot I asked about that thing here, but as I understood it was a blaster and not a receiver?

I suppose I could connect the blaster in the remote out port, but there is nothing else to control via infrared...

Yes, but you might have to explain a little further. This thing is a blaster. Which I thought meant that it will emit an infrared signal? I'm asking for something similar, but then receiving the signal. If I'm about to get another, I'd like to understand what exactly I should buy.

To emit a signal by cable it must receive it by Infrared.
There are many such devices available at, for example, Amazon.
Alternately a device can receive IR and transmit it again some distance away.
    Again Amazon have many examples.

Yes, that's right, but why go to Hong Kong for it?!

Crazy right? But it's free shipping and I have not been able to find something here that would sell only the eye... Might take a while, but no rush.

Well... Both do not deliver in my country anyway and this adds extra charges. In my own country they do not seem to sell these, only the expensive receivers which I wasn't looking for.

The cheapest non Hong Kong option I found was almost 15, while the hongkong one was only 1,50 (picture was a 100% match).

Expected delivery from England was the 24th and Hong Kong delivered from the 24th. It might take a week or so longer, but I'm not in a rush. And this saves me over 10. Why would I then order someplace else?
