I have just purchased a new laptop (toshiba satellite 2.8ghz) and it has an infra-red panel on the side. Is there any software i can use to operate my home cinemaq from my pc or am i missing the point?

Sorry if this is a silly question but i would appreciate any response.

you fancy using a laptop, about 6 times the size of a remote to control your cinema?

Why not just use a £100 pronto?

Unless the infra red unit on your laptop is a "consumer strength", then you're unlikely to be able to remote control much unless you're about a foot away from the kit in question.

Pronto's definately the way to go for the type of thing you're looking for.

Next to my acoustic guitar, reckon it's the best purchase i've ever made!
