If you're into Bond music, I can recommend "Bond back in action" 1 & 2 - HDCD, Dolby Surround encoded, from Silva Screen - sound great with PLII.

Are they the original soundtracks? As some of Silva Screen cd’s are re-recordings and can sound different to the original (not meaning the surround effect).

Dean, so far as I know, although the discs are touted as "limited editions", there is only one release, so what you've found should be right.

You can buy these direct from Silva Screen Records - take a look at http://www.silvascreen.co.uk/master.cfm?SilvaCode=FILMCD317&id=40 and
http://www.silvascreen.co.uk/master.cfm?SilvaCode=FILMCD340&id=1813. I notice one of these has the "limited edition" label in the picture...

Garrett, they are not the original soundtracks. Check out
http://www.shef.ac.uk/~cm1jwb/bondbacd.htm, http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/bond_back.html and http://www.filmtracks.com/titles/bond_back2.html for some background info.

In short disc 1 includes "new digital recordings of music from the first seven James Bond films, with over 20 minutes of previously unreleased music". "the world premiere recording of Monty Norman's score for Dr. No, plus symphonic suites based on the original John Barry scores for From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Diamonds Are Forever" and "a new recording of The James Bond Theme with Vic Flick, the guitarist from the original 1962 recording". So there you go! :)

Something else you might really enjoy is "For your ears only" by Proteus 7, a 1998 release on Dorian Records. It's full of great music and great efects, kind of woven into a story.... For more info look at http://www.dorian.com/newbig/dorian/90258s.htm. It appears this is available both from Amazon (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000007SAO/qid=1045334472/026-3131484-9999611) and Vivante (http://www.vivante.co.uk/downloads/CD.pdf). If you're looking for something fun to listen to (this sounds really great with PLII by the way) I'd actually recommend this over the Back in Action discs!

Cheers, Clive
