I know thismight of been mentioned before somewhere on this earth, but I think remaking the original 3 films would be a really good idea.. this way they all fit in seemlessly and the effects will be upto date.. I know there would be a split view on this but still, I am up for it..

The cost would be no problem for Lucas.

There has been a lot of movies that have been remade and work alot better than the originals. IMO i think the starwars would be a whole lot better. Dont get me wrong i think the orignal 3 are excellent films, BUT could be better and remaking them is the only way..

The newly released originals are very very good and are probably the best films out there that have been restored.. I think hes not quite brought then upto date as far as 2004 goes but probably back to 1998-2000 this is my own opinion.

So in all. I think Lucas should make New hope, empire strikes back and return of the jedi all over again. I would like him to re-write the films too. Take bit out and put bits in...

Ok now you can flame me.... :D

I think it'd be a bad idea full stop. More like suicide :suicide:

It could happen at some point in the future, but certainly not any time within the next 20 years I would have thought.

he'd only find some way to put jar jar binks into all three of the movies, so perhaps not..

maybe he could have another go at redoing the special effects, i think he's redone them twice already if i'm correct, so maybe the third one could go all out and replace half the movie with cgi :p

    Bad, bad, idea...

These movies are all time movie history.

Maybe in years to come they may be remade (not by Lucas).

I think Lucas will go back yet again and tweak the FX.

In the meantime wait for the 3D version in 2007.

What would be a better idea is to finish his Star Wars film saga and make parts VII - IX. But, alas this won't happen as he has already said he won't do any more. :(

Just look at the mess Lucas made with the special editions e.g. the cg Jabba the Hut. Now just imagine that spread over three films. A thumbs down from me :thumbsdow And you've got to remember that the movie considered to be the best of the trilogy, Empire Strikes Back, wasn't even directed by Lucas. It'd be like remaking the Godfather Trilogy which would be a bad idea as well (with the exception of part III :) )

I'd re-edit only to bring the effects more up-to-date. These movies are nearly 30 years old so a bit more tweaking wouldn't be amiss - a bit like plastic surgery I guess.

especially on some of the attacks on the Death star, the battles over Hoth etc.

But these are the only elements I'd update.

Apparently Lucas was quoted that the EpI & II had a fanatical following from the under 25's! :D
