Listening to Wharehouses by HD today, I suddenley noticed an uncanny similarity between that album and REMs output.

Further more when Bob Mould went of and started Sugar, Copper Blue contained the final song Man on the Moon, strangely also a song title on Automatic for the people.

    Coincidence ?? or something deeper.

I have to believe HD started it, they officially formed first but...

right better get straight back to my folky ramblings:smoke:

I like Bob Mould, Husker Du, Sugar, not aware of any link to R.E.M though.
Noticed a Husker Du T-Shirt watching Taken a few weeks back.

Perhaps it's time I dug out 'Warehouse...' and gave it another listen. Bought it about 10 years ago and never got into it despite most folk saying it was their classic album.

'Candy Apple Grey', 'Zen Arcade' & 'Flip Your Wig' though...fantastic. It's funny how Bob Mould gets a lot of the Husker Du credit when Grant Hart's contribution of songs is exceptional, especially on 'Candy...'

I have New Day Rising and Wharehouses, both are good albums, I just cant bring myself to utter the word classic.
