hi torn at the moment between a sharp aquos 15'' and the relisys 17'' both around the same price, anyone heard of the relisys make, I appreciate it may be a cheap make but ideally want a lcd tv for the dinning room so it wont be my main viewing tv and this fits in to my budget of £500 inc wall mount.

Superb.. 3 year warranty.. under £500 but no Scart socket..component is there instead. The sharp has a scart but connat be used with a PC as there is no VGA in.. and it only comes with a 1 yr guarantee.

I have the Toshiba 14" in my bedroom, its only 4:3 but the picture and sound are fantastic compared to other lcds i considered around that price (rrp £799.00 but richer sounds and www.tvandvideodirect.com do it for £379.00 now - when i bought it from tv&video it was £399.00)

The 20" still goes for around £999.00 so i think the 14" is an absolute bargain

For the money i think its fab if you can live with 4:3 and the picure off freeview box is very acceptable, the freeview box does letterbox modes.

It has a scart/ svideo shared and another s video and component inputs and looks damn sexy and the sound is very spatial

    Thanks

    S

Well I wonder if that guy actually was using the Relisys ??

The screen does only have a 4:3 or wide setting (no zoom). I leave everything in wide.. I have a Panasonic Q (DVD/Gamecube) hooked up via the s-video and component leads..and a Pace freeview box hooked up via the RF. Picture quality is superb and the sound from the screen is so good. Clear and crisp.

Not sure why the other comments were so bad ? (Not that I care!)

Best recommendation is you go have a look for yourself.

    Enjoy..

    Matt

(Theres a huge review thread on the Relisys with piccies a good few pages back now)

I expect the only video signal the guy who was ranting could get was composite. That will explain the noise etc. As to sound, it's probably not really worse than any other small TV

thanks for the replies, bought one now and not had a chance to really hook it up yet, didnt get much joy with the video sender, going down the route of splitting my rf2 output signal on sky, so will be able to see for myself at the wekend..... for under £450 it looks good value for money... thanks for the replies

I went for the relisys in the end.... I personally think I made the right choice, I can't fault it for the time that I've messed around with it, was very surprised by the overall picture and sound, perhaps because when I bought it I wasn't expecting a better quality picture than a crt tv, I wanted it not to take up too much space and offer a decent picture & sound. overall I think it was a good buy and well worth the money..
