Reliable NVR Remote Viewing System

Update: I got a local CCTV company to pop in and all port forwarding is now set up and working and assured me that it IS secure. Access remotely has not failed yet. So all good.

Thanks for everyone's help on this.
Hum, ok. All systems are potentially vulnerable, main thing is make sure you stay up to date with patching and updates.

Thanks for that. We live in a world of, if someone wants in, they will get in, no matter what precautions people take.

Hi Guys,

I am just fine tweaking and checking the camera settings for Resolution, Main Stream, Sub Stream, Frame Rate and Max Bit Rate to ensure I am getting the best possible results from my cameras. If anyone knows more about this stuff than me, any chance of checking my current settings and letting me know, if I should change any of them ?

Swann NVR-7400 (8 Channel)

Six Swann NHD-811 1080p Dome Cameras with settings of:

Main Stream Resolution 1080p, Frame Rate 25 Max Bit Rate 4096.
Sub Stream Resolution 640*360, Frame Rate 6, Max Bit Rate 160.

Two Swann NHD-819 4mp Dome Cameras with settings of:

Main Stream Resolution 2560*1440, Frame Rate 15, Max Bit Rate 4096.
Sub Stream Resolution 640*360, Frame Rate 12, Max Bit Rate 512.

The two 819 Cameras are on constant record and only four of the 811 Cameras are on constant record, with the other two 811 cameras on Motion Record only.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated (as always).

Thanks

Bobby
