just been offered a Rel Storm approx 4 yrs old any ideas what its worth
I paid £240 for one last year in VGC which I think is about average. On ebay they often go for well over £300. Given the current offer on brand new Paradigm Servo 15's I wouldn't spend more than £250 on a Storm and even then I'd probably kick myself if I ever heard what the extra £150 would get brand new.
maybe i'll just buy it and chuck it on ebay
The storm is not a sub to underestimate though...... as good as the servo is, i dont think it will match the storm for stereo use, if that happened to be a priority.
For interest, i sold mine for £190 a few weeks back and even then it was hard going.
Only because you live in Belfast and said that it had to be collected. You ruled out 98% of all forum members by saying that.
And i bet you if i had sold it to someone sight unseen and they whinged (despite my warnings) id be on the bad traders thread. I did try and sell it without the stipulation and the best offer i got was £200 inc postage, in fact that was the only offer.
So £160 - £170 sounds like a good buy depending on condition then
That price is excellent irrespective of condition as long as it is in full working order. Any cosmetic damage can be repaires easily but you cannot get a decent subwoofer new for that price let alone an excellent one like the Storm.
I have had two and they are very good subwoofers indeed.
if you manage to find storms at £160 you are looking at a bargain that will rarely be replicated!
I would say that a good condition one could be worth £300 if it has a nice finish and i reckon £200 is probably the least you could hope for..... unless you are very lucky!
Thanks for your help
