REL Q200E or Q100E Subwoofer

    Has anyone comapared REL Q200e to Q 100e. I have Monitor Audio silver 5i as main. the difference in price is nominal

    your opinions would be much appreciated!

    You probably know the difference in appearance is quite substantial. The Q200e uses a completely different box (smaller), amp and driver.
    To be honest, if the difference in price is nominal then it's a bit of a no brainer from the technical point of view - it's newer technology.
    But the final word must be yours after auditioning both.

    I have used a Q100 in my secondary (lounge room) system for the past 3 years. Its still the best value for money sub around today.
    I've recently heard the Q200E and thought it was awfull.
    REL have tried to emulate the american 'True Subwoofer' with this one but it has'ent worked. The True is the size of a large shoe box that contains a chocalate bar sized amp delivering well over 1000 watts.

    In short.
    The Q100 goes lower is faster and cleaner than the Q200e.
    Q200e louder (higher db) but sounds very untidy.
