I am thinking about buying a subwoofer for about 600 pounds to pair up with my b&w 604 which are large floor standers. I thought about buying the rel q200e but have been put off buy its size. Has anybody out there got one and if so can you please tell me your thoughts on its performance the other subs on my shortlist are the paradigm servo 15 and the rel strata 3 your advice would be greatly appreciated. The room size is 12 feet by 15 feet. :p

A granade is smaller, try letting one of those off in the room first, if it's not loud enough go for something larger.

Sorry about that, the Q200 is plenty for a room of your size. :)

Dont be put off by the fact its a small sub, it certainly packs a punch and can produce superb house foundation shaking bass!!

Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Your neighbours will hate you! :D

    cheers

I demo'd the Q200 against the Strata III and ended up with the Strata III cos it sounded more musical. If I had bought the Q200 I would end up turning it off when listening to music. (Although, purists suggest you shouldn't be using a sub when it comes to music!!!)

    Agree there.
What do you want to do with your Sub.
Music and Movies or only Movies?

For movies it's about the most bang for the buck.
And apparantly the Servo 15 is the king according to tests.
    I haven't ever heard it.

The Q or the ST series biggest difference is in the musicality. The Q is specialises for movies. Rel's version for biggest bang for the buck. The B&W 604 is large and can go pretty low by themselves. But i guess that even the Q200 will take your HC set to new depths. So if size is a premium. The Q200 is your sub.
BTW checkout the Q150 or the new 201.
