sorry if this has been mentioned before and i've missed it. reign of fire is out on rental on monday (not sure if its out to buy) and it has a DTS soundtrack.

watched it last night very poor film, but the dragons sweeping room my listening room were very impressive, and the sub gets a work out too....

R2 isn't out to buy and play don't list it, although I have heard a rumour of March.

R1 is out and is DTS

The R2-project have it listed as a June release I think?

I'm ordering the R1 at pay day.

this was a film that i was really looking forward to seeing, however, the truth is its pants!! IMO its got an awful script and not a sign of any decent acting, granted the dragons look good but other than that its a real let down - americans come to save the world again!!!!

if i'd been asked yesterday, i'd have said i was going to buy it, however, today i wouldn't give you a fiver for - buyer beware!!

I agree with Gary that this is one of the all time stinkers and whilst it does have an excellent sound track, anyone who buys it for that alone is a very sad person indeed.

    Oh bugger.

I ordered this for about £12.00 a couple of days ago on a whim!

I fancied it at the cinema, but it was one of those films that I never got round to seeing and figured I'd pick it up on DVD.

I read some pretty good reviews though (okay and a few duff ones), so will have to hope that my opinion differs to IanJ and Gary....

    It's a reasonable C-movie, or possibly a good D-movie.
It sounds like Dick Van Dyke was the dialect coach though.

I've seen far, far worse supposedly good fims, but then I've seen much better films aswell. It's a no-brainer that if you expect it to be crap you'll either get what you expected or be surprised that it's more entertaining than you thought it would be.

Most people that think it's going to be crap tend to get what they expect though.

After Perfect Storm I'd say Reign Of Fire was the worst film I've seen at the cinema, avoid like the plague. The sound would have to be better than the Sirens who drove ships into rocks to tempt me to buy it :p

This film has terrible dialogue, plot and acting. In fact I can't think of any saving graces at all. "If you expect it to be crap" as the big man above says, why would you waste your money buying or renting it when there is all that free crap on the television.

its got to be said , reign of fire had to be 2002 ,s worse movie! it was dire! that american tank commander got on my nerves! and christian bale[who,s usally good] must have had plenty of free time to make this turkey! thing is it had a good plot [for the first 10 minutes]

I enjoyed Reign of Fire and ive seen a helluva lot worse films the one which really disappointed me in a big way was Hannibal the whole film except the dinner brains scene was just so hollywood and not the least bit scary, as for Reign of Fire the american DID NOT save the day and i don't wanna reveal wot happens cos some people have still not seen it but it made a refreshing change

I have to join FoxMulder in saying that I too really enjoyed the film.

Granted it wasn't full of dragon action, but as an action no brainer film I thought it was excellent. I thought the visual effects were cracking, the sound was excellent, the storyline was original, albeit a little shallow (but aren't all action film storylines). The acting wasn't shakespeare but then again when did Bruce Willis ever receive commendation for his acting ability for Die Hard?

I thoroughly enjoyed the film at the cinema and watched it on Region 2 rental last Friday (yeh before you say it, it isnt released yet!).

This is one movie I will be adding to my collection. I appreciate I am in the minority, but if you haven't seen the film I'd say give it a go and make your own mind up about it.

I thought the film was crap , the only good bit was the Star Wars Re-enactment .

I was gutted that I didn't get around to seeing it in the cinema but now I'm Relieved that I didn’t

I wonder how one can produce such nonsense, even if you try really hard... do yourself a favour and give this one a BIG miss!

Well, always one to buck the trend and advice I rented this today (at a loose end this afternoon).

Yes, the acting is poor, the dialogue is poor, the script is poor and the accents really really poor.

However, still enjoyed it. The overall story is a good one and the dragons/SFX were very good.

The DTS soundtrack was very good, especially the action parts.

Overall, I enjoyed my afternoons watching.

Would I buy it ? Nah, maybe not ;)

    Cheers

    Ian

How can we justify £30,000. Haven't you noticed that there's never been a fire in Trumpton
