There is the Freeloader, however I wouldn't hold your breath. The best you will get is an NTSC cube from www.newageconsoles.co.uk which plays both Jap and US games. Better off getting that, or simply getting a US cube.

GameCube is the first PAL console I've ever had, and I've been playing games for a long time.

Run it via component video to iScan Ultra (deinterlacer and anti-aliaser) to Panny5 50" plasma, and it looks stunning. Particularly as all my games run in PAL60.

I'm after region free mainly because PAL release dates are so slow, however, checking out import prices they are rather steep (I've yet to pay more than £30 for a title).

Perhaps Freeloader will be available one day, Amazon recon 6 March 2003; but I gather this product has suffered from quite a lot of slippage.

Hi, Try using a U.S gamecube, most of the titles launch 3 months before Europe. and best of all most U.S titles are progressive scan, no UK pal titles are. I use a compontent lead thru my LCD projector with stunning results. I buy my tiltes from E bay and use a excellent supplier from Canada. Delivery takes 3-7 days from Canada!. Try him. Good luck

    Datel.

Rang the place I used to work today while I was there and asked how many were needed, then mentioned that this may be the only batch ever produced. Guess they think it may have to be pulled if they get too much pressure from the big N.
They actually said they needed the order today as they were getting shipments ready tomorrow, they will go out next week to the retailers.

we had a call from Datel's distributor today saying that Freeloader was shipping over the weekend and early next week so it should be in retail middle to end of next week.:)

edit - certainly wont be their only shipment. If they have the go ahead from Nintendo (or at least no objection) then this product will be around as long as Acton Replay..

I think that may be why they said that it may be the only one , think they are getting them all out in one go because they havent had the go ahead.

Freeloader Update - News From Datel! Date: 28/01/2003
Now, before you start, we know that you've all heard this before. But nonetheless, we thought you might like to know...Datel have confirmed 100% that Freeloader is finished and will be shipped to retailers like ourselves on the 5th, which is next Wednesday! That means that all those of you who've preordered (and we know you've been waiting a very long time now!) should start receiving theirs as early as next Friday!

Obviously, a disclaimer is in order. This is what Datel have told us. Datel have failed to deliver on similar promises so far, so don't start holding your breath, but feel free to quietly keep your fingers crossed!

    **************************************************

    Fingers crossed indeed!

    Mrs Taz.
