Just recived Hostage (R1) and tried to play it via the Watch DVD option under MCE to be met by the "cannot play due to region ......" message

However I have DVD Region Free installed and under TheaterTek and the like it plays fine - but not under MCE

Is there anyway it can be corrected ?

That's odd - can you change the firmware on your DVD drive to be region free?
I have a Lite On Drive and have a little firmware app that lets me change the region as many times as I want to.

AnyDVD from Slysoft is fully compatible with MCE.

ISTR that it needs to know the applications that you use to play DVDs. If you have had the software some time it probably isn't aware of MC.

You have to add the program in. I can't remember for sure but it's something like eshell.exe
