    Is there a difference in picture/sound quality between the various dvd regions ?

    sorry if its a dumb question :)

    A general question really as im just starting to fill out my dvd collection and obviously want to get the best quality discs. Purely interested in picture+sound, dont care about features.

    Have a look on our DVD comparison forum and also the Total DVD website. You should find some answers there.

    But afaik you aren't always guaranteed the best quality from one region, for example not all of one region are better than another

    Personally I only have a region 2 player so perhaps someone with experience of multiple regions can help you out.

    My experience is that if you want the very best its a question of juggling the regions and reading the reviews, sometimes you will find a film in region 3 land (( Underworld DTS selling for £7.99 on CD Wow )) which is astounding value and looks and sounds superb, other times you might want the extras so look for another region.

    If its purely sound and vision and you don't care for the extras then try these sites for comparison reviews.
