    Can anyone confirm if this has a DTS soundtrack?

    The R1 version does not have DTS. Only the R2 and R4 versions have it.

    The R2/R4 are also a different version to the R1

    have a look here to see some of the differences with R2/R4 compared to R1 DVD

    So why were those signs changed then??? anyone know?

    Because anything with English text, would otherwise have to be translated into various non-English languages worldwide and superimposed. So instead, they replace them with symbols (wouldn't work well with subtitles due to their positioning and context).

    Oh, thanks... So does the R2 have the text or symbols?

    If I want the DTS soundtrack (which I do) it looks like I'll just have to start looking seriously at PAL progressive DVD players then... :) Any excuse!
