Rega Planar 1 Plus too loud on KRK Rokit RP6 G3

Novice Member

Appreciate if forumers can propose solutions to my problem.

I have a Rega Planar 1 Plus turntable. The turntable has a built-in phono stage, (I understand) it produces a line output, which is then connected to the RCA input of my two KRK speakers.

Ther problem I have is that the speakers are playong too loud, even when I have set the volume knob on the KRKs at the lowest setting of -30dB (the default position is +6dB).

Am I connecting correctly or do I need anything else which will allow me to adjust the volume to listening level? In case it helps, the KRKs also has two other inputs (Balanced TRS and Balanced XLR) which I can use. Not sure if changing the input connections would help resovle the issue.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions and solutions!
