I just got home and set up my Kef Reference Model 90c centre speaker, bought of ebay, only to find that the bass/mid driver isn't working.

The tweeter in the middle is fine but I only get a whisper for dialogue.

I have tried turning up the amps centre levels but it only makes the trebble louder.

I have tried with two different cables and still no difference.

    Any suggestions?

Pretty pe'ed of since the guy I bought it from will no doubt say that it was fine when he last used it.

    Gutted :(

Well, for those of you interested....

I did some investigation later last night and it turns out that the crossover is not working. I opened the speaker, connected the tweeter wires to the bass/mid driver and sound came out!

Does anyone technical reckon I have any chance of getting the crossover repaired?

I would assume it is an easier thing to fix than if, say, the bass/mid driver was actually damaged!
