Red Steel - aiming glitch and fix

All,

This is posted elsewhere, but may of benefit to some. Red steel has a strange glitch where although you are pointing at one part of the screen it glitches every now and then and jumps to the centre of the screen for a moment and then back.

At first, people were blaming bad set-up, interference, sensitivity adjustments etc. As one user eventually found out, there is indeed a bug.

The solution is to turn down the sound for the Wiimote to zero (i.e no sound). You can do this by pressing the home button, choosing the correct Wiimote and then turning the sound down.

When you reload the gun, the sound is supposed to come out of the Wiimote. It only works intermittently for most people. It is something to do with the coding around this that is causing the issues. By turning the sound down to zero, the problem is gone although you lose this nice touch.

SOme reported the glitch much more than others. Could be timing related, could be affected by the number of bluetooth devices in your home (e.g mobiles etc), Ubisoft won't confirm.
