red line down tv?

mums lcd telly has a red line down the right hand side?
1 yr old,anyone know what causes this?

Without the make and model number how do you expect any meaningful replies?

Almost always, a single (or multiple) "pixel lines" on the screen is a failure within the LCD panel itself and not repairable.

If it's only just over 1 year old, persue a claim under the sale of goods act as "not fit for purpose" as it should last a lot longer than that, and it's a manufacturing defect.
