I havent seen it before, but is it better than Series 3? I've got series 1-3, but was rather disappointed with series 3.

There's a review here http://www.dvdweb.co.uk/new/review.asp?mainID=710 covering the contents. I think in this series the interplay with Kryton starts to take off and there are some standout episodes like DNA (the transmutation machine is brilliant), Justice and Meltdown.

Series 3 a letdown!!!???? Wash your mouth out sir!!! 3 contains two of the classic "dwarfs", Polymorph & backwards! 4 is better screenplay wise, and is among my favourites. Series 5 is probably my all time "top watches" though. 6 is good in patches, 7 a letdown after an excellent start. 8 is consistently funny but ages fast!!!

Anyone know when Series 5 will be released, or some good places to hunt around to find out. Tried various online retailers (play, blackstar etc) and the BBC website and have found no mention of a release date

The way Red Dwaf series have been released in the past is one in February and then one in November.

Going by this trend I would expect series 5 in Nov and 6 next Feb.
