Could be a while at this rate - well, a couple of years anyway - unless they accelerate things and tie it in with the 'in development hell' Red Dwarf movie, now due next year (yeah, right).

Taken from the R2-Project:

The BBC have announced that series 1 and 2 of "Red Dwarf" will be released in the States on Feb 25th. Now what's interesting to us is the list of extras for season 2. I can only presume that they will be the same over here, when S2 gets it's UK release. The extras are:

Deleted Scenes
Smeg Ups
Original BBC Trailer
"Red Dwarf A-Z" Documentary
Doug Naylor Interview
"Alternate Personalities" Featurette
Tongue Tied Uncut
Special Effects Raw Footage
Isolated Music Cues
Audio Book Chapters
Photo Gallery

Quote:

"Fans everywhere will be pleased to know that this list of extras is true for all regions. As before, the disc will feature snazzy animated menus, allowing access to all the episodes, which have again been given a clean up in preparation for this release. So it's like Series I all over again, really - only with a giant inflatable banana on the set."

However:

"Content-wise, the discs for Series I and Series II will be identical to the UK editions in all but one respect: "There is a terrific featurette on the UK disc which, unfortunately, had to be cut from the US release because the music behind it couldn't be cleared by the publisher for release in the US. It's a shame, but that happens from time to time with programs that are released in both countries. We have tried to make up for it by adding our own extra added value item unique to the US release in the form of two sets of exclusive trading cards which will be available only in the DVD."

Oh come on, Series 7 wasn't that bad. It had some good episodes in it. Wasn't the one with the JFK thing in Series 7- that was funny :D It was just the film stock they used that ruined it. Oh and didn't it have canned laughter too :(

I;'ll still be buying them ALL (in a box set, unless i can't wait any longer :p)
