Assuming they don't really need full HD, they could look at the Toshiba 32AV635 for the lounge

15" for the kitchen Technika 15.4" HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview 15.4-310 - Tesco.Direct (or £140 with built in DVD Technika 15.4" HD Ready LCD TV with built-in Freeview & DVD Player 15.4-311 - Tesco.Direct ) - won't be great but then small TVs aren't really, especially sound wise

All options would leave them spare wine money - also, if they are blotto it won't matter if the TV picture isn't the best :D
