I have purcahsed a Toshiba RD-xs32sb DVD recorder. It is linked to a JVC PLasma screen/Sky digibox. I have tried recording from the unit and it works ok but it will not allow me to view a different channel from the one it is recording, Everytime I set the reocorder it automatically switches to that channel.

I have tried pushing the TV/DVR button but this does not work. Neither do the channel buttons underneath the flap. The plasma does not have its own tuner and maybe this is the problem. Is there any way round this (eg using another connection) that I could use to view an alternative channel whilst recording?

    thanks

    hi,
it's not possible to watch a different channel unless you have a second tuner/sky-box.

Would connecting a video recorder to the plasma and running the channel changes off that work do you think?

It will!! Since your Plasma is bound to have more than 1 input, you need to switch over to DVD1/DVD2 or Video1/Video2.
