I have been recording our VHS to DVDs on our Panasonic 85. This is purely for our convenience so that I can put all the old bulky videos in the loft - I'm not stealing any copyright.

However some videos seem to be able to tell the Panasonic not to record them. I assume that they hide a message somewhere on the signal being fed through - is there any way around this, eg either a setting somewhere or perhaps a device to remove the message from the signal?
