Recording to DVD from Video - Help!

Hope you can help ....

I'm trying to archive some old videos onto DVD. I've got an old Bush video connected via SCART into the S-Video connector of a new Panasonic DMR-ES10 DVD recorder.

The only signal I get is black & white and without sound.

Do I need to use a differnt connector into the DVD recorder? SCART to PHONO. Is it the lead? Is the video?

Any suggestions welcome....

Unfortunately vhs video players will not output s-video from the scart, what you are seeing is the luma component of s-video which shares the composite video pin of the scart, you are missing the chroma (colour).

The best you can do is use composite video via phono, for audio you need to connect the red and white phonos as well.
