    Hi all,

Some family members need a VCR that will record the subtitles on 888 text. I've tracked down the above model, and although it says it records subtitles, it doesn't specifically say it records 888 subtitles.

Can anyone confirm, or supply an alternative model that WILL DEFIANTLY record 888?

    Thanks.

If the video says it'll record subtitles, it'll record 888 subtitles - there aren't any others!

My partner's deaf, and we've had a number of videos that record subtitles, including the Panasonic NV-HD685 (probably since been upgraded). I personally prefer a video that records closed caption subtitles - like the closed captions on shop bought VHS and DVDs, where you get a choice whether to have the subtitles on during playback. The Panasonic above does just that.
